Dallmer's concealed condensate trap 138 works with or without seal water

Summer is peak season for air conditioners. But if not used for prolonged periods, traps can often dry out allowing bad smelling sewer gases to escape into a room. To prevent this, the Dallmer product portfolio includes the concealed condensate trap 138. It closes automatically and prevents sewer gases entering the room. Thanks to its see-through maintenance cover, it's easy to check the state of the visible trap and clean if necessary.

Easy maintenance

The scope of delivery includes a housing with removable siphon insert, a blanking plate for surface mounting and a cover plate. The trap insert is transparent and its large inspection opening means that all inner components are easily accessible. If required, the cover plate can be removed in order to clean or replace the siphon insert. If there is ever insufficient seal water, an integrated float valve closes the trap and reliably prevents unpleasant smells. The cover plate can be removed for cleaning and the siphon insert can be rinsed and/or replaced if necessary and the cover plate simply placed back in position. In the event that the trap has dried out, a plastic ball accommodated in the siphon cartridge moves over the sealing element and reliably seals it preventing any bad odours penetrating the room. Similar to the concealed HL 400 trap for washing appliances, the 138 trap is invisibly installed in the wall and connected to the condensate piping. The wall is then plastered over, whereby the trap housing is protected by a blanking plate. Once the wall surface is finished, the blanking plate is then cut off flush with the wall and replaced by the cover plate.

Wide range of applications

The versatility and design of the Dallmer concealed condensate trap makes it a practical solution for a wide range of installation scenarios. For example, it is ideal for the connection of split-system air conditioners, central air-conditioning systems, air conditioning units, wine cellar cooling units, dehumidifiers and condensing boiler heating systems. Designed in compliance with DIN 19541, the trap is suitable for both flush and surface mounting. A flexible elastomer seal enables connection of pipes with Ø 20 – 32 mm. The drainage rate acc. to DIN 19541 is 0.15 l/s (9 l/min).
